Timber Entrance Door FAQ's

Can you match the design of my existing door?

Yes, we can. If you see a particular design you like or if you’re looking to replace your current door but want to keep the same design just send an image through with your enquiry – we’ll do the rest.

Do you supply the door leaf on its own without a frame?

Due to the thickness of our door leaves being 68mm we do not offer these as a separate item. This is because they won’t fit into regular frames which are designed to take a 44mm or 54mm door leaf. Our frame thickness is 92mm

What is key operated and handle operated locking?

Our most popular front door locking system is the key-operated or townhouse style without an exterior handle to replicate the traditional look of a mortice lock and deadbolt. The handle operated locking system with exterior handle is commonly used on back doors and modern front doors. There is no difference in terms of security between the two, both locking systems are PAS24:2016 certified and Secured by Design approved. They operate a 3-point locking mechanism that bolts into the door frame and feature a 3-star Neighbourhood Watch approved door cylinder lock

Are stable doors secure?

Yes, they are. Our stable doors incorporate the PAS24:2016 certified GU Rhinobolt locking system and feature a 3-star Neighbourhood Watch approved cylinder lock on every door. The opening leaves securely lock together when closed and fix securely into their frames via the shoot bolts

How does a classic stable door work?

The top and bottom leaves can operate as a single door leaf or independently of one another. They open inwards, featuring a handle operated espagnolette lock and cylinder lock. To operate the top and bottom leaves independently, you simply release the secure clip/latch at the meeting rail. The handle on the lower leaf operates a multi-point locking espagnolette that can be secured independently of the top leaf, preventing access or exit from the home while leaving the top leaf free to open

Can I use my own ironmongery?

The drillings in our doors are specially designed to fit our ironmongery, so we would always recommend you chose from our range of handles. Our handles have been carefully selected for their design, security and lasting performance guarantees. Should you wish to use your own handles or locks we would recommend that you first check with the manufacturer and your building inspector to make sure they’re suitable

Do you offer electronic or keyless entry opening systems with your timber entrance doors?

We don’t currently offer any electronic or keyless entry systems on our Bereco Timber entrance doors. If you do wish to fit an electronic locking or opening system to our doors or windows, then please contact our technical team for more information
